"Happy Dogs" by Louie Metz

$575.00

Medium: oil on canvas

Dimensions: 24 x 30 x 2.5"

“Most of my work is painted from life, either the live model or outdoors from direct observation; the larger piece was about 50/50 plein air and finished up in the studio with the details like lettering and figures.

Making art is a way of life for me; I consider myself primarily a painter, but I am constantly drawing, because I think that drawing is the foundation of all the visual arts, to really see it I have to draw it ,I usually draw and paint from the live model, or live in the field, but between those excursions I'm working on my drawing in the studio.

I'm a longtime Los Angeles artist, lived here since 1975, I've shown at, La Luz De Jesus, Barnsdall Municipal Art Gallery, Copro Nason, Beyond Baroque, The Hive Gallery and Studio, Ave 50 Gallery, and with the Cannibal Flower Collective. I work as a scenic, muralist, set painter for TV, FIlm, public, private and commercial spaces. The paintings at the Redwood Bar and Grill were commissioned from me and have appeared in several shows.”
