Lumen Printing with Richard S. Chow • October 19, 2025 • 12-3pm

$185.00

This workshop introduces participants to lumen printing, a cameraless photographic process using black-and-white silver gelatin paper. Objects such as plants, fabrics, transparencies or other objects are placed in direct contact with the paper and exposed to light, producing images with unique and unpredictable colors.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own materials to create photograms or to experiment with individual image concepts. Final prints can be fixed with darkroom chemicals to become archival, other methods can be reviewed as well. If time allows, additional topics in other alternative photographic practices will be discussed. Lab fees and materials are included. Enrollment is limited to four participants.

The workshop will be led by Richard S. Chow, fine art photographer and curator.
