Printmaking and Book Arts Exhibition 2025

We are excited to announce an open call for submissions for the 2025 Printmaking and Book Arts Exhibition. This exhibition aims to celebrate the diverse and intricate art of printmaking, showcasing works that highlight traditional techniques as well as contemporary innovations. We welcome submissions from artists of all backgrounds, whether emerging or established, who are engaged in printmaking practices.

Theme: “Pressing Matters” The theme for this year's exhibition is “Pressing Matters.” We invite artists to submit works that explore the concept of impressions, whether literal or metaphorical. How do your prints convey the marks, influences, and effects of your creative process? We are looking for works that reflect on the impact of printmaking in the art world and beyond.

Submission Guidelines:

1 Eligibility:

◦ Open to all artists worldwide, aged 18 and older.

◦ Only printmaking works are accepted (e.g., etching, lithography, screen printing, woodcut, monotype, etc.).

2 Submission Requirements:

◦ Up to three works per artist.

◦ Each submission must include:

▪ High-resolution images (JPEG or PNG) of each print.

▪ Title, medium, dimensions, and year of creation for each work.

▪ An artist statement (up to 250 words) explaining the connection to the theme "Impressions."

▪ A brief artist bio (up to 150 words).

◦ Optional: A link to the artist’s website or portfolio.

3 How to Submit:

◦ Submit all materials via our online submission form [insert link here].

◦ There is a non-refundable submission fee of $25 per artist. Link here.

4 Selection Process:

◦ A panel of esteemed printmaking artists and art professionals will review all submissions.

◦ Selected artists will be notified by August 20, 2025.

◦ All selected works must be ready for installation by August 31, 2025.

5 Exhibition Details:

◦ The exhibition will be held at SubTerra, at The Los Angeles Makery.

◦ Opening Reception: September 6, 2025.

◦ Exhibition Dates: September 4 - September 28, 2025.

◦ All selected works will be featured in a printed catalog and online gallery.

Important Dates:

• Submission Deadline: August 15, 2025

• Notification of Acceptance: August 20, 2025

• Artwork Delivery Deadline: August 31, 2025 12-5pm
