F*#@ HOLLYWOOD – by Cathy Immordino
A limited edition artist book · Photography series “Studio Walls”
F*#@ HOLLYWOOD is a limited edition artist book by Cathy Immordino featuring her photographic series Studio Walls—long exposure night images taken outside the closed gates of Hollywood movie studios.
In these images, passing car lights become streaking stars, and street lamps take on the role of stand-ins for the dreams they illuminate but do not fulfill. The result is a haunting visual language built from light, motion, and distance—where Hollywood is both physical place and emotional landscape.
Immordino brings a dual perspective to the work as both actress and artist, mother and dreamer. Through this lens, Hollywood becomes a metaphor for ambition, rejection, desire, and the persistent pull toward something just out of reach.
The images hold a tension between beauty and frustration, stillness and movement, access and exclusion—capturing the mythology of Hollywood as it is often experienced: glowing, symbolic, and just beyond the gate.
