"Tlanchana La Sirena, 2024" by Christine Yelich Roberts

$130.00

Tlanchana La Sirena, 2024. Paper maché, pearls, beads, silk, rodium. 12” x 8”. $130

La Sirena is the mermaid goddess of water sellers, fisherman, and sea-farers.

Statement: My art is a whimsical montage of a Science background and my Hispanic culture.

I am inspired by the 60’s, nature, human anatomy, and my grandmother’s jewelry box.

I love to craft beads, wire, paper, flour, paint and my passion for vintage and odd objects into one of a kind treasures. Favorite materials: mixtures of old and new, whimsical and unusual, patterns, textures, shapes and colors, vintage beads from many cultures, bones, shells, lucite, the classics of pearls, crystals, pewter, silver, vermeil.
