"The Graying of My Hair", 2024" by. Christine White

$375.00

"The Graying of My Hair", 2024. Oil on canvas, 16" diameter, 8" high half circle. $375.

Statement: Connecting to one's own power, symbolized not only in the balance of elements but also in creating music especially in the more gate-kept genres. Also, an allusion to stereotypes of aging and acquiring cats.

Bio: Christine White is a painter and geographer. She holds a Masters in Geography from University of South Carolina (Columbia), and moved to California to work for a geographic software company in 2007. She painted in her free time and took as many classes as time allowed. In 2019, she left the tech industry to pursue art full time, with a personal mission to use her paintings to build stronger, kinder bonds with the people, creatures, and places we encounter. Working primarily in oil, she creates both classically rendered paintings and three-dimensional multimedia works that integrate upcycled materials. Advocacy for the environment and honoring nature are themes in her work.
