Artist Statement: I was incising deep, dark lines into my clay work which led me to want to experiment with linoprints. I could see how the linear quality that I loved would really shine in linos. The physical act of carving the block is very meditative. I really enjoy the surprise element that comes when an impression created by cutting away the linoleum is then pressed and transferred to paper—you never quite know how it will turn out which is part of the artistic enjoyment.
