Subject Matter: Abstract
Price $700
Growing up in middle America, I did not have much experience with luxurious environments. I did not travel to the tropics or beach cities and had no idea of how the other half lived.
I arrived in Orange County in early 2000 and was struck by the beauty of beach town living. The ocean here is blue, turquoise, or green depending where you are. The air smells of saltwater and sunblock. The homes are stacked neatly beside themselves up the hills and the vibe of beach living is luxury at it’s finest.
You do not have to be rich to live in luxury, you make your luxury with the environment you are in. You can rent a room in one of these hillside homes and live the life of a surf bum.
I was one of those people living on the hillside in a small, ocean view apartment, breathing the sea air, walking on the beach whenever I wanted, collecting shells to decorate the fishnet hanging on my deck. It is a luxury to live in a laidback environment so close to the madness inland. I soaked it all in and it made a difficult time in my life bearable.
