This multimedia invites viewers to meditate on the relationship between Goddess Kali—the sword-wielding mistress of illusions in her form as Mahamaya—and the illusion-churning engine of Hollywood. In the video montage I have integrated images of Kali statues that were sculpted for the Hollywood Vedanta Temple since 1948 and the some of the most iconic Hollywood femme fatales.
