"Hekate, Goddess of Magick" by Nefertara

$2,000.00

Hekate, Goddess of Magick, 2024. Acrylic on canvas with handmade gold leaf wood frame, 58” x 50”. $2000

This painting was inspired by a vision I had of the ancient Greco-Roman Goddess Hekate. I grew up as a practitioner of Greco-Roman religion. She came to me with the mare’s head. The head is modeled after an Arabian horse dear to me from my childhood. The most ancient version of her is the horse form and she is supposed to have three heads. Her other sacred animals, the dog and snake, are shown as her other heads. She’s a psychopomp and is holding a Cimaruta amulet from Italian Stega magick, a torch, a snake, and a blade.
