Artist Statement
Paper mache transforms used packaging materials and old CD's into the armature for a hive and platforms for royal bees to dwell upon. Likewise it is velcro, glue, and paint that morph bits of plastic container lids and used guitar strings into charming bees. Four queens and three suitors flit about this golden protected world. The gold is a symbol not only of their hive, but of the joy we feel in the presence of bumbling bees.
