CALL FOR ART: THE PHOTO SHOW
August 6–30, 2026
Los Angeles Makery

The Los Angeles Makery invites submissions for The Photo Show, a group exhibition dedicated to the tactile, hands-on possibilities of photography. This show centers process over perfection—highlighting work that is physically made, manipulated, and transformed by the artist.

We are seeking handmade photographic work that explores photo emulsion, alternative processes, and experimental techniques. This includes (but is not limited to) cyanotypes, darkroom prints, chemigrams, lumen prints, wet plate collodion, hand-altered photographs, photometry and other process-driven approaches.

Important:
This exhibition is focused on material-based photography.
Archival pigment prints will not be accepted.

We’re looking for artists who push beyond the digital and into the unpredictable—where chemistry, time, and touch play an active role in the final image. Whether your work is subtle or raw, controlled or chaotic, we want to see how you engage with the medium as a physical practice.

Details:

  • Exhibition Dates: August 6–30, 2026

  • Location: Los Angeles Makery

  • Commission: 30% on all sales

  • Drop-Off: Accepted work must be hand-delivered (no shipping)

  • Drop-Off Dates: July 28 – July 30, 12–6 PM

  • Opening Reception: August 6, 2026 6-9pm

This is a space for experimentation, imperfection, and process. Bring work that shows your hand—literally.
