LOS ANGELES MAKERY · CALL FOR ART
COMMON THREAD
What connects us? What binds, repairs, or unravels?
The Los Angeles Makery invites artists to submit work for Common Thread, an exhibition centered on fiber art and material transformation. This show explores the tactile, the woven, the stitched, and the layered—celebrating practices that use thread, fabric, textiles, and soft materials as both medium and message.
In the spirit of sustainability and reinvention, artists are encouraged to incorporate repurposed materials. The Los Angeles Makery will provide access to fabric, rugs, and other discarded textiles—inviting you to reimagine what might otherwise end up in a landfill.
We are seeking work that engages with fiber in expanded and experimental ways: traditional or conceptual, sculptural or wearable, delicate or monumental.
Exhibition Dates: September 3–27, 2026
Drop-Off (Hand Deliver Only): August 29–30, 2026
Location: Los Angeles Makery
Please note:
• All work must be hand-delivered. We do not accept shipped artwork.
• Artists are responsible for transforming materials into finished, exhibition-ready pieces.
• Selected works should be ready to install.
This is an invitation to connect—through material, process, and shared resources. A thread runs through all of us. Show us yours.
